Aiphone to release the new JF series colour video intercom

Following in the footsteps of the very popular Aiphone JB colour hands free video intercom system, Aiphone will be releasing the new JF series colour hands free intercom system.

The new JF series will be available in two formats: the basic system and the expanded system. The basic system connects a single video door station to one or two video room stations. The expanded system connects two video door stations with one to three video room stations.

The expanded JF system also has digital picture memory function as standard which enables recording of images when the entrance station(s) call. These images can be played back on the JF2MED main room monitor as well as the JF2HD sub room monitor stations.

The expanded system using the JF2MED also allows internal communications with up to two JF2HD video room stations or JF2SD audio room stations. The expanded system also has an audio memo function as well as the ability to select from up to four door call tones.

Both the basic and expanded monitors have an extra service switch to enable the control of additional hardware for example a second door or vehicle gate.

There are flush mount and surface mount vandal resistant door stations available as well as a surface plastic video and an audio only door station.

Stock should be available in late January 2007.

Helpful Hints

Frequency response
A flat frequency response has been the main goal of microphone companies for the last three or four decades. In the fifties, mics were so bad that console manufacturers began adding equalizers to each input to compensate. This effort has now paid off to the point were most professional microphones are respectably flat, at least for sounds originating in front. The major exceptions are mics with deliberate emphasis at certain frequencies that are useful for some applications. Problems in frequency response are mostly encountered with sounds originating behind the mic.
