The Silent Experience: AKG K 28NC Headphones

Forget the noisy part of travelling.

The new K 28 NC from AKG turns every trip by plane, train, or bus into a relaxed listening session. An integrated active noise reduction filter reduces noise-related stress to a minimum for fatigue-free, restful travelling.

The K 28 NC provides excellent comfort and, thanks to the unique 3D-Axis folding mechanism, takes up almost no space in your travelling bag.

How does the K 28 NC work?

Noise causes stress. Thundering jet engines, the rattling of railroad coaches, engine noise on a bus, the voices of fellow travellers: when on a trip, it is not easy to relax by listening to music. Too much ambient noise gets in the way. The new K 28 NC from AKG with Active Noise Reduction circuitry let you enjoy music on every trip without being disturbed by ambient noise.

Put Active Noise Reduction in your pocket: the entire featherweight system - comprising the high quality folding mini headphones, noise reduction filter with clip, and airplane and stereo adapters - is contained in a small, light carrying bag and allows relaxed listening at normal volume levels even in extremely noisy environments, while providing excellent sound quality. The self-adjusting metal headband conforms to heads of any size, while the soft leatherette ear pads are exactly the right size for optimum comfort and hardly make themselves felt on the ears.

The K 28 NC headphones reduce ambient noise in two ways. They use closed-back earphones and special electronic circuitry. Subminiature microphones integrated in the earphone shells pick up low-frequency ambient noise. The Active Noise Reduction filter reverses the polarity of the noise signal to generate its exact mirror image that will coincide with the original noise at the ear. As a result, ambient noise will be eliminated almost completely while the music signal remains practically unchanged.

The Active Noise Reduction filter is housed in a small, elegantly styled case with a clip for fastening on clothes, equipment, or any other convenient backing. It will operate for up to 40 hours on a single dry or rechargeable battery. A red LED indicates both operation and battery status.

No matter what audio source (in-flight entertainment system, iPod, MP3, MD, CD, PDA, PC) you want to listen to on a plane, train, car, bus, or boat, the AKG K 28 NC add to comfort and fun while reducing unwanted noise.

Helpful Hints

Audio signal processing, sometimes referred to as audio processing, is the processing of a representation of auditory signals, or sound. The representation can be digital or analog. An analog representation is usually electrical; a voltage level represents the air pressure waveform of the sound. Similarly, a digital representation expresses the pressure wave-form as a sequence of symbols, usually binary numbers.
