TOA Electronics is introducing the new ER Series, a complete line of lightweight and powerful megaphones. This new series is comprised of fourteen new models, both hand-held and shoulder-type. Providing sound coverage of up to ½ mile, these megaphones feature extended battery life and are available in a variety of colors. Customers can choose options that include a built-in or a detachable microphone, siren or whistle tone, auxiliary input and external 12 VDC. All of the units in the new ER Series are backed by a five year product warranty and include an anti-bacterial treatment which eliminates germs within twenty-four hours.
Single coil Pick-Up
Single coil pick-ups consist of six magnets (one under each string) which are surrounded by one continuous coil of wire. Single coils are excellent for thinner more percussive styles of playing. Single coils are also susceptible to 50-60 cycle hum which can be a problem if using a high gain setting on an amplifier.
Sound Reinforcement
Traditionally this term was used for exactly what it states, i.e. the amplification of audio signals in a "live" situation, be that a sound system for a live concert or a theatre of any sort, or a Public Announcement type system etc. In the last few decades the usage of the term has expanded to include most sound installations both permanent and portable, and in practice covers almost any type of sound system installation except those used in homes and recording studios.
