Ever-expanding list of endorsers for Peavey gear

Hardcore metal band Atreyu has seen the barrier between metal and punk rock fans dissolve in recent years, and it's never been more evident.

"Heavy music is in a great place right now, compared to five, maybe six years ago," says guitarist and Peavey 6505 endorser Travis Miguel. "There are bands popping up everywhere, and they're all really good."

Atreyu is leading the movement of metal/hardcore hybrids while touring its crossover album The Curse with its stacks of road-tested Peavey 6505 guitar amplifiers.

"My 6505 amp has been shipped all around the world for two years and sounds great," says co-guitarist Dan Jacobs. "The 6505 has a really gainy, heavy tone to it. You can rip people's faces off with the gain on only 3 or 4."

"Dan shreds, but I'm more of a textural guitarist," offers Miguel. "I'm always drawn toward guitar parts that are unique and interesting. The 6505 caters to what I do because it's so powerful."

6505 Series amps feature five 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC power amp tubes, with presence and resonance controls and three-band EQ for taming their notorious tone. These amps are available in a standard 120-watt head (6505 and 6505+) and a 60-watt 2x12 combo with two Peavey Sheffield® loudspeakers (6505 212). The matching 6505 412 cabinets are outfitted with four Sheffield loudspeakers.

6505 Series amps are the undisputed go-to guitar amps for scores of rock, hardcore and metal bands due to their raw tone, relentless power and road-proven reliability. The 6505 is the amp of choice for an ever-expanding list of endorsers, including 3 Doors Down, Ted Nugent, Steve Morse, In Flames, Visqueen, HIMSA, Darkest Hour, Sworn Enemy, Unearth and many more.

Helpful Hints

Single coil Pick-Up
Single coil pick-ups consist of six magnets (one under each string) which are surrounded by one continuous coil of wire. Single coils are excellent for thinner more percussive styles of playing. Single coils are also susceptible to 50-60 cycle hum which can be a problem if using a high gain setting on an amplifier.

Sound Reinforcement
Traditionally this term was used for exactly what it states, i.e. the amplification of audio signals in a "live" situation, be that a sound system for a live concert or a theatre of any sort, or a Public Announcement type system etc. In the last few decades the usage of the term has expanded to include most sound installations both permanent and portable, and in practice covers almost any type of sound system installation except those used in homes and recording studios.
