Aiphone Release New GH Digital Apartment System

Aiphone have released the successor to the very popular GF Digital Audio and Video apartment intercom. The new Aiphone GH Digital Audio and Video apartment intercom uses the same simple wiring as the popular Aiphone GF apartment intercom but the Aiphone GH system comes with some major new key features;

  • Hands free apartment stations available in audio and video models.
  • Colour and B/W video apartment stations available.
  • Up to 16 audio or video door stations supported.
  • Up to 500 apartment stations supported.
  • Supports up to 4 room stations per apartment.
  • Flexible apartment numbering from 1 to 6 digits as well as letters.

Customers are often requesting a hands-free apartment intercom as well as a colour apartment system and the new Aiphone GH system fulfils both of these requirements.

The GH colour LCD apartment monitor is the thinnest video monitor produced by Aiphone at just 32mm and can be fitted with an optional handset if required.

The Aiphone GH entrance stations share most of the entrance panel hardware from the current GF range and the GH entrance stations are vandal resistant and weatherproof.

Although the Aiphone GH system uses the same 2 wire audio or 4 wire video wiring backbone as the current GF system, the two systems can not be intermixed.

The new Aiphone GH system will be available in April 2006.

Helpful Hints

Single coil Pick-Up
Single coil pick-ups consist of six magnets (one under each string) which are surrounded by one continuous coil of wire. Single coils are excellent for thinner more percussive styles of playing. Single coils are also susceptible to 50-60 cycle hum which can be a problem if using a high gain setting on an amplifier.

Sound Reinforcement
Traditionally this term was used for exactly what it states, i.e. the amplification of audio signals in a "live" situation, be that a sound system for a live concert or a theatre of any sort, or a Public Announcement type system etc. In the last few decades the usage of the term has expanded to include most sound installations both permanent and portable, and in practice covers almost any type of sound system installation except those used in homes and recording studios.
