Commercial Division hits the Road

Commercial Roadshow in Melbourne

Audio Products Group launched the 2005 Commercial Roadshow in September at the Lidcombe Catholic Club in Sydney. This year, instead of showcasing all of our brands we have decided to concentrate on specific areas that relate to the Commercial Contractor Market. On display will be all of the TOA and Biamp ranges as well as selected products from our other brands that are of particular interest to the contractor. These include products from Peavey, Denon Consumer, Denon/Marantz Professional, Niles, Athena Technologies and AKG.

The Road Show has already been through NSW, VIC, SA and WA. Still on the list are QLD and New Zealand. Don’t miss it. Please contact APG for details.

Why are there so many different microphones?
Different microphones are designed for different jobs. In addition to this there may be different microphones for the same job. Microphones come in many variations, different Polar Patterns, different Sensitivity, different Frequency Response and differing Proximity Effects.

What are “polar patterns”?
The "polar pattern" of a microphone indicates its sensitivity to sounds arriving from different directions. Omnidirectional microphones "hear" equally well in all directions while all others prefer sound from one (unidirectional) or two (bidirectional) directions.
