Guitar legend Joe Satriani tours Australia with new award-winning Signature Series Peavey gear

Australian fans have been long awaiting Joe Satriani’s national tour and the sell-out gigs were an indication of the guitar legend’s ongoing popularity. The March tour coincided with the recent release of Joe’s 9th studio album, “Is There Love In Space”, which is a creative and original blend of guitar wizardry.

Joe Satriani (a.k.a. “Satch”) has combined forces with Peavey to release a signature line of products, including the JSX™ Joe Satriani Signature head, which is now available in Australia. Much to the delight of fans, Joe was an integral decision-maker in the development of the already award-winning products and the live sounds were superb.

“We started off with the JSX because I wanted three things… and although that was a tall order, Peavey was really set up to put that together for me… we were able to get a double sided circuit board and all the best components, and put together an amp that had all the coolest features.” Joe Satriani interview, Guitarist Australia, April 2005.  The JSX head was also quick to impress the industry and won the prestigious 2005 NAMM Music and Sound Award for ‘Best New Instrument Amplifier’.

In Australia, Joe Satriani wowed audiences in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth with old favourites and spirited tracks off the new album. At each gig, “Satch” played with 4 Peavey JSX heads and 4 Peavey Triple XXX® Straight cabinets. The international leg of the tour continues as Joe Satriani now travels to New Zealand, Japan, India, Singapore and the US.

Audio Products Group Product Manager Luke Dixon was on hand at each show to supervise the set-up of the Peavey gear and to invite key Audio Products Group customers to attend the concert. All Peavey products used at each event were personally signed by Joe Satriani and then made available to key Peavey dealers.

“Every song but one was instrumental. He played for three hours and still the crowd was screaming for more. Satch would then come out and play two encores every time. He made it look effortless and the extra jam sessions were amazing” said Luke.

Joe Satriani was joined onstage by Jeff Campitelli on drums, Matt Bissonette on bass, and Galen Henson on rhythm guitar.

Peavey celebrates their 40th anniversary this year and has a history of innovative manufacturing techniques, leading the industry in the number of patents, trademarks and registered products. The company is thrilled with the new award-winning JSX range and plans future product cooperations with Joe.

Joe Satriani’s new album, Australian tour and release of the new signature Peavey products has satisfied fans for the time being, but the question fans are asking now is, will Joe tour Australia again with the group G3? Stay tuned.

Helpful Hints

So-called low impedance headphones may vary from 75 ohms up to about 150 ohms. Phones in this impedance range may be directly plugged into the headphone jack routinely found on recording and playback equipment. Higher impedances, such as 600 ohms, are more useful in studio installations where many units may be wired in parallel for studio monitoring applications.
